Typora Activated
A record of activating Typora, following this CSDN tutorial.
Some scripts linked in 2022 tutorials had been banned and couldn't be cloned. And since CSDN is so obnoxious—you need a paid membership to copy text—I'm recording this method that works in 2025.
Find the JS File to Modify
I'd looked through lots of tutorials saying that Typora's activation depends on whether a license's activation value is true. Editing that part locally therefore takes care of the backend activation step too.
Method:
- Open ..\Typora\resources\page-dist\static\js\LicenseIndex.180dd4c7.4da8909c.chunk.js
- Use ctrl+F to search for "e.hasActivated="true"", then change e.hasActivated="true"==e.hasActivated to e.hasActivated="true"=="true".
- Backend activation is done.
Close the Activation Popup on Startup
Method:
Open ..\Typora\resources\page-dist\license.html
Find this at the end:
</body></html>Change it to:
</body><script>window.onload=function(){setTimeout(()=>{window.close();},50000000);}</script></html>
Note the 5000000 here. A smaller number doesn't work; it causes a data error.
Remove the “Unregistered” Label at the Bottom Left
Method:
- Open ..\Typora\resources\locales\zh-Hans.lproj\Panel.json
- Use ctrl+F to search for "UNREGISTERED":"未激活", then change it to "UNREGISTERED":""—just delete the three characters 未激活.
Reopen Typora
Close the activation window manually at startup. It won't appear again after that.

Closing Thoughts
I normally write Markdown in Obsidian. It's a little more comprehensive than Typora, costs nothing, and doesn't pop up asking you to activate it. File management is convenient too, and there are plenty of third-party plugins.
So why spend so long looking for a way to activate Typora?
Maybe because its interface is pretty. 😹
